The loading technology is the starting and end point of your logistics
The key to the success of your logistics chain is the loading technology.
Therefore, there are a few points to be clarified in advance when designing a loading station for your maximum safety and efficiency:
The number of loading stations
It is important to note how many trucks are loaded and unloaded at the same time and at what peak times.
Are goods received and dispatched at common or separate loading stations?
Where does processing such as sorting, packing and labelling take place?
Constrictions on the company premises must be avoided for smooth operation.
Truck access has to involve minimal manoeuvring.
Likewise, the dimensions of the vehicles must be taken into account to the letter.
Deepening of the loading zone
In order to adjust the difference in height between the truck loading area and the warehouse floor, we have two possibilities for you:
Provision of a recessed loading zone, or
Lifting the warehouse floor up to the truck loading area.
The loading ramp
The aim of a loading ramp is to ensure the smallest possible difference in height between the height of the truck loading area and the ramp.
Loading ramps can be installed in the building, at the front of the building and in the sawtooth profile
The dock leveller
There are a few points to consider here:
the difference in height between the loading area of the truck and the ramp, the maximum angle of incline, the actual working area, the width of the interior of the truck, etc.
We support you with manual and electro-hydraulic versions, with hinged lip or feed lip.
The Sectional Door
The sectional door completes the loading station. The dimensions of the loading door are determined by the height of the loading ramp, the model and dimensions of the trucks, the type of goods and the model of the dock shelter.
Internal means of transport
The steeper the angle of the dock leveller, the more energy (e.g. by the pulling force of the worker) must be expended to move the goods. Different types of internal means of transport require different gradients, making it necessary to adjust the lip angle to the corresponding internal means of transport.
The dock shelter
Dock shelters are installed to keep out unfavourable weather conditions by closing the gap between the truck and the building and limiting heat loss. You also have full control over access to the warehouse, even when the doors are open.
A distinction is made between: inflatable dock shelters, tarpaulin dock shelters and cushion dock shelters.
Safety standard EN 1398
EN 1398 is a European safety standard for dock levellers, which was drawn up at the request of the EU member states. This standard sets out guidelines that manufacturers must comply with when designing, producing and installing dock levellers.
